Mitchell Smith! This muh fuckah will make yo ass feel some shit with "Stone City". Took me three months tah finish the damn novel, gettin too involved with Bauman's plight. And we ain't even gonnah get intah the "Snowfall" Trilogy! Shiiiought!
I would say Lee Childs too, but sometimes that muh fuckah gets a lil too verbose fo my likin! But yah got tah read "Make Me"! Childs, like Stephen King oft times describes some shit too damn long.

Andrew Vachss with his "Burke" novels is one of the best at bein succinct! "Flood", "Blue Belle"...take yo ass on ah ride quick and to the point!
James Lee Burke, with "Neon Rain" et al, with his "Dave Robicheaux" novels.
William Diehl. "Sharky's Machine". Read thah shit! You'll appreciate Burt Reynolds directorial vision that did the novel ah lil justice! Diehl's "Chameleon" is worthy of your individual precious limited readin time!...
Oh, and Sonshines! Marcel Montecino! "The Cross-Killer" and "Big Time" are must fuckin reads!...
