There was no, "What's next?"! Because he had tried different things to help him get up. Legs, nothing. Arms, nothing. Torso, nothing. But he could raise his head and he did so. Looking around, he was still in his apartment, about six feet from his front door. He started thinking again, Josh had pulled out his gun, from the jump when he had opened the door for Josh after peeking through the peephole in his door. Saw that it was Josh. Safe. But,
Fuck!
No!
As soon as he opened it, Josh had raised what he recognized in surprise coming up toward his being...a pistol?! He had looked at Josh's face more closely, then and he saw menace written all over Josh's face! Why?! He raised his hands as far as a defense and tried to retrograde back into the inner sanctum of his apartment. But he would deduce lying here, not being able to move, he didn't get to an inner living safe space fast enough. But he noticed at least Josh had closed his front door.
He layed his head back down on his now heavily bloodstained carpeted floor, there went his security deposit he absurdly thought and smiled after thinking of that nonsense, looked up at his textured apartment's ubiquitous ugly ceiling and began to pray:
"Our Father. Which art in Heaven..."...
(Peace. More to come...)
